My first voyeur photograph

All Photographers are voyeurs.

We always love to swoop in on unsuspecting insects having a gala time on flowers, and click them in compromising positions without their knowledge, whilst they suck away to glory. Then we release the pictures on the internet and whip up a storm.

But this time around, one of my pics whipped up a storm at home itself.

This was one of those voyeur pics, alright. My first (I've named it Hello_World.jpg). I thought it was a significant milestone in my photographic journey and put it up as my desktop's wallpaper at home. The very idea of a bug sucking the hell/gel out of a flower seemed exotic to my artistic vision.

Ok, maybe it was not a bug.

I still found it exotic.

But alas! When have parents really understood your triggers for excitement?

Mom kept telling me to pull the pic off the desktop, cos she constantly felt the urge to swat the fly off the beautiful flower.

And Dad tried hard to make me realize how revolting he found the pic to be. He kept complaining of nausea until I relented eventually.

This blog-post is an appeal to all parents in the world to understand the importance of the house-fly:

1) It is the ONLY creature in the world to be called "house-fly" (I am sure of this)
2) The name itself is interesting, giving rise to such great pieces of jokes such as this:
"A: I saw a house-fly.
B: Oh.. Maybe the building was strong and the basement, weak"
3) This is a dummy point, without any content. If someone skims through this list without reading consciously, I want him/her to believe that I have written a lot more than I actually have.
4) Last, but farthest from the least: It is the only THING to have stayed put while I clicked a pic. And I have proof.
Just have a look at the pic of a pug doll below.

It was a freaking non-living thing! And still it chose to shake instead of saying cheese. (Maybe it was still under contract with Hutch and was trying to follow my cam lens wherever it went. Who moved his cheese?!)

Proof no. 2:

Would you believe me if I told you this was a LAMP POST? No, right? Ok am not telling you anything about this pic.

NOW, Mom and Dad. Counter this :-|

Hope urs is a true oyeur pic ;) he he.. (mom, if you read this.. I am just joking.. I swear)

And no probs abt the crit.. But what kind of adjustment do you think it needs? I did not find anything odd with the lighting before.. But now that u raise it, the lightin does not seem even.. there are some shadows.. within the flower too.. but methinks it looks better this way (though it was unintended :) )

is this wat u meant? If not, go ahead and PP the pic and send it to me dude.. waiting for it..

@nitin: Thanks dude..

And i guess lots of people are fallin for point no.3.. i have got half a dozen comments till now on IM that the second pic was shaky, and that they could not identify what was in the third one :)

Thanks a lot for dropping by, seeing the pics, and commenting :)

You know how happy a blogger feels when one of his posts reaches the magic figure of "10 comments"!! (Even if half of them were posted by himself, under the pretext of replying to other comments)

I guess you are the only guy who can turn a topic of no importance into something similar to making headlines belittling Benazir's assasination.
Great work!
And it always gives you a happy feeling seeing a message like "You have got one comment your blog" in your mail and you dont know how fast you go see it :). Many may call it 'silrai thanam', but man! they are small yet intense joyfulness. The marketing for this blog is too good. Actually its already close to 2PM and i was way late for my office. Just saw that you were 'busy' for chat and scrolled over your name and found the link. Usually people these days atleast 30% of em put links as their status message and it will always be boring to go click and see em. But it said, it was a pic, not just any pic a 'voyeur' pic. My curiosity intensfied and clicked on the link and was at first disappointed to see the three pics in the initial scrolldown. Honestly, they suck! (no offense). But i've been always a fan of your writings. I would know that surely you will keep me enthralled throughout the blog and so you did.
Well, i guess i stop abruptly here (officeuku time aachu ba!)

Glad that you read thru, despite the lack of time :) And over that, you made such a huge comment!! (Just a couple of more lines, and your comment might exceed my blog in length da :D)
As for the pics, thanks for the frank feedback.. negative feeedback makes systems stable - control systems.. he he ;)
And un comment la yae yenakku romba pudichadhu, kadaisee la "stopping ABRUPTLY" nu sonnae paathiya.. Innum unakku kusumbu korayavae illa da..
